Vehicle Undercoating Rust Protection Service

Hey folks, here’s some info on the undercoating service I provide!

Price

$350.00 for up to midsize vehicles
$450.00 for full-size SUVs/Trucks/etc
20% discount for on-schedule reapplications (up to 2 years)
Rust removal, prep, and other added work at $100/hr shop rate
- Deep surface rust, pitting, or flaking rust/undercoating will need to be scraped/brushed/needled to prep for effective wet film application.
- Very rusty vehicles can also take additional time and material to coat, especially on a first-time coating.
- Most vehicles don’t need any prep. Very rusty ones can take 3-4 hrs.

B’laster Surface Shield (‘clear’ color) for your vehicle undercarriage to stop/slow/prevent rust.
applied on the undercarriage and inside frame/structural/suspension parts and where access holes are accessible.

Process

Drop off your vehicle with a 4-hour window for application, then come back to pick up when it’s done.
I’ll assess the vehicle once I have it up in the shop, and will check in with you to confirm any additional estimate of services needed before proceeding.

Notes

I’ve been spraying wet film lanolin undercoating for 10+ years, including 5 years experience spraying for clients here at my sole-proprietor shop at my home.

Bonus eyes on your vehicle: by my inspector nature, I’ll be taking a close look at the underside of your vehicle while I’m under there. If I have time, I usually take a little video or photos before and after application, showing you how it looks and noting any observations, recommendations, etc. (state of rust, oil leaks, missing or stripped fasteners…).

I’ve recently (2025) switched to spraying Surface Shield (from Woolwax). I think Surface Shield has some performance advantages: thinner for better spray and initial creep properties, and potentially cost-effectiveness benefits with a two-year recoat schedule (vs Woolwax 1-yr). I haven’t been using it for two years yet, but I’ve seen tests backing up the longevity advantage.
